Started by parents who refused to choose between good food and good vibes.
For years, Kelly came prepared to restaurants with a carefully curated kit of crafts, games, and creative activities. It worked beautifully, as her daughters stayed engaged, meals stretched into unhurried conversations, and dining out became something the whole family looked forward to.
During travels abroad, she noticed how some cultures and venues naturally embraced this approach, offering dedicated kids' corners where children could play while parents lingered over their meals.
She realized this should not require packing a suitcase of supplies or traveling to another country. Every family deserves this experience, right here at their favorite local spots.
Our story began when Kelly Licon, a mother, discovered something simple yet powerful: when kids have engaging, hands-on activities, meals transform from something to rush through into moments families want to savor.
Led by vetted, trained and certified professionals, our service means parents can enjoy their meal without the prep work or reliance on screens; just the peace of mind that comes with quality, curated care. Now you can finish a conversation, savor your food and maybe even have that second cup of coffee.
So she created The PopUp Kids' Table, a pop-up children's entertainment service that brings supervised creative fun to restaurants, country clubs, food halls, and hotels.
Kids, entertained.
Parents, relaxed.
Meals, enjoyed.
Kids, entertained. Parents, relaxed. Meals, enjoyed.

"Dining and traveling with kids doesn't have to be a challenge or a chore, it just takes a little preparation and the right approach. I've always believed in coming equipped with engaging, hands-on activities rather than defaulting to a screen. Kids thrive when they're given something creative and multisensory to explore.
In our family, we have a simple social contract: we'll make sure you eat well and have fun if you let us do the same. That mutual respect and understanding is really the heart of The PopUp Kids’ Table, creating space where everyone at the table, young and old, gets to enjoy the experience."

Kelly Licon
Founder & Chief Craft Tender
In addition to founding and serving as the Chief Craft Tender of The PopUp Kids’ Table, Kelly is a dedicated educator and mother of two who brings passion and purpose to everything she does. Originally from New York, Kelly earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami and her first Master of Arts from Florida Atlantic University before joining Teach for America, a decision that would shape her career in meaningful ways.
Placed in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kelly taught first grade at a Title 1 school where most of her students were English language learners. Her innovative approach and genuine connection with her students did not go unnoticed. Following obtaining her second Master of Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she was soon promoted to become the school's literacy specialist, where she worked directly with struggling readers and coached fellow teachers on effective strategies for reaching this often-overlooked population.
After years in the classroom, Kelly stepped back from teaching to focus on raising her two daughters. But education has always been her calling, and she has now returned to the classroom, bringing with her years of experience, a deep understanding of how children learn, and the heart of someone who truly believes every child deserves to succeed.
When she is not in the classroom, Kelly is the founder of The PopUp Kids’ Table, proving that once a teacher, always a teacher, even when it comes to making family dining out easier for everyone.
